The next Hearthstone expansion is heading into our favorite Jurassic Jungle, known to many of us as Un'Goro Crater. Hearthstone: Journey to Un'Goro is slam packed with 135 new cards featuring deadly dinos, poisonous plants, empowered elementals and a violent volcano. In the announcement video above, Hearthstone production director Jason Chayes and game director Ben Brode discuss some of the new cards and unique features coming to the game soon.
Quest Cards
One of the new card types coming to Journey to Un'Goro is known as Quest Cards. They require players to complete specific tasks to earn (another card as) a reward. The only Quest shown in the announcement is called Awaken the Makers, which rewards you with the Amara, Warden of Hope card.
Because the rewards are so powerful, opponents can see when a Quest is applied to hero portrait (kind of like Secrets).
"Quests will give you access to some of the most powerful cards Hearthstone has ever seen — if you can complete them." - Jason Chayes

Adapting Minions
Adapt is a new word-feature when it comes to some of the minion cards in Journey to Un'Goro. Triggering a minion's Adapt Ability allows players to choose from three random advantageous buffs that are specifically suited for their minion.
The only card with adapt revealed so far was the Verdant Longneck.

Elemental Minions
For the first time in Hearthstone, Elementals get their own card type. Chayes and Brode teased new elemental cards coming with the new expansion including a tar pit elemental and a new legendary Mage card, Pyros, which returns to your hand as a stronger card each time it dies until its final form:
And because of the new Elemental Type, some previous elemental cards have been changed to fit their new description.
Volcano!
So because of the volcano that's in the middle of Un'Goro Crater, there's a new spell card for Shamans called Volcano that rains flaming death and destruction down upon all minions on the board.
I'd also like to mention that last season's expansions and adventures, Blackrock Mountain, The Grand Tournament and League of Explorers are now retired and they will no longer be available for decks in Standard Mode.
